I want to run retrofit of building with lattice-work-screens on facades. Now this is a very intricate geometry and Im wondering if there are any examples of designing fenestration of such type? Also, how what is the best what to make such screens, if I want to run the model in both apache sim and radiance ies?
thank you.
Modelling Lattice Work screens for building facade
Re: Modelling Lattice Work screens for building facade
I had a look through our system but I couldn't find a worked example for modelling lattice screens. You can either model this by physically drawing the screen in ModelIT or you can take it into account through the use of shading devices for the glazed construction in the Apache Constructions Database.
I would be tempted to do a feasibility study... create a much smaller model and create an area of meshed screen in ModelIT and set to room type "Local Shading". Note the effect of the shade. Then do iterative tests trying out different settings for the glazed construction shading devices (applied to the same little test model without the local shade) to see if you can get a similar effect using them. Once you have a close match apply this to your main model.
