Desperately need help with EnviroImpact lifecycle analysis

Calculate Net Present Value (NPV) taking into account different operational costs, including capital, running, annual maintenance/replacement.

Desperately need help with EnviroImpact lifecycle analysis

Post by silviazheleva »

I read the entire Lifecycle analysis guide and have purchased the Impact construction databases. I made a model of a residential building using ModelIT and then used Apache to set rooms, floors and also the necessary corresponding construction materials using the setup constructions and assign new constructions tabs. However I found it difficult to replace and get rid of materials from the default template. Both new and template constructions were remaining in the project constructions window. So i went and changed the default constructions in the Building template manager. This mostly worked. Was that the way to do that or is there another way to get rid of default materials (as i tried deleting them but it was telling me they were in use but just as default materials)?
I then went on to do a dynamic simulation. For me this is not so important as I only need carbon footprint values for embodied energy and the end of life fates of materials. However I made this step as it was specified in the Navigator. Is there a way of bypassing this instead?

I then created a new lifecycle project, however the template that is described in the LCA guide did not come up, so i just clicked on the 'general' template as this was the only available one. I then populated the project settings and the impact spaces. I specified both categories and elements. However only the lifecycle values for one building element come up, namely for external walls, despite the fact that all of the construction I have chosen and allocated are from the Impact spec database. Would you happen to know why this is and how to rectify this, as I need some results as fast as possible?

Kind regards,

Silvia
