Simulate Single vs VRF without HVAC Module

Hello All,

We are wanting to run a few simulations to concisely prove the benefit of VRF over single split systems.
Usually without the HVAC module(Have it but it takes too long in this case) we just increase the COP's of each unit to show the VRF system uses less energy.

However we want to make sure that the model is behaving and taking waste heat from one space and heating the cool spaces and vica versa....

  • What are your experiences achieving the best VRF representation?
  • How can we accurately show the improvements and benefits of this type of system?

Suggestions

Talk to Daikin about their VRV plug-in for IES. It only allows you to model Daikin components but it should be fine for proof of concept.

Edit*

That plugin is UK only not available in NZ.

Any other Ideas?

That's unfortunate.

Without HVAC I cant think of another way of doing this with IES.
