ERRORS Feature Pack 1 2013

The new Feature pack looks really interesting but unfortunately several new things do not work in my case.

1.The Suncast Parallel processing gives me the following error:
"An error occured while running Suncast. (-3)". Only when the option is set to off the suncast is completed.
I have windows 7 64bit with 2 XEON 5355 Quad Core CPU (8 cores)

2.In radiance, the new dynamic simulation after the simulation is completed, when I press "Process" I get the following error: "Problem reading Annual file Header".
Then I get "WPD file -name of room- updated. Go to "WP Grid tab to view data"

If I press Display I get the same error "Problem reading Annual file header", then the summary information appears with no results and if I close it or press a tab I get the VE MFC error and VE stops and exit.

Antivirus is disabled and the project folder is named A on the C folder.

3.At the dymanic simulation at the Sensors Tab after the completion of the simulation I get an error :

RadView - Read Illuminance File
"File Error -Location mismatch

Model File
Latitude 35.40 35.40
Long Diff. 5.40 5.40
Orientation -30 330

I guess something is wrong with the orientation but how can this be corrected?
I get the same error for the radiance simulation and the apache.

4. I also tested gbxml with Archicad 17 and Cadimage gbxml addon. I made a simple model and imported it to IES. For a reason I cannot understand the rooms were imported with distance between them equal to the thickness of the wall. All the rooms were separated and also no windows were imported. The same thing happened to Archicad 16. I can send you the file to test what is wrong with it.

5.After completing a simulation lluminance - WP dynamic at the image tabs with 10K Lux CIE overcast sky as sky condtion, at the WP Grid (BETA) when I select the file I get error "Encounter an improper argument".

Hi hummingbird,
I have experienced very similar errors with IESRadiance. I am running windows 7 64bit as well.

Thanks andreabotti.

What about the simulation in Suncast. Did you manage to use the new Parallel Simulation???

Sorry for my late reply, I just did not see yours. Actually not, I haven't tried it yet.
Would anyone from the technical team be willing to address issues with Radiance?

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi all.

I have created a known issues topic for VE 2013 Feature Pack 1 here: http://bit.ly/18ovZPk

Thank you Terence for the feedback
I had indeed two rooms with windows set as adjucent buildings.

I changed them to room and the parallel simulation worked just fine with fantastic speed.

For a large building the simulation took more than 45minutes and now it is completed in 10.

Do you have any feedback for the radiance errors we get?

Thank you in advnace.

That's good!

For the Radiance problems are you using a PC with pre-Vista version of the Windows OS?

I am using windows 7 x64.

I had some problems before with Rediance sensors but those were cause by Kaspersky.
I keep Kspersky deactivated and the new Radiance options (described above) do not work and give error.

Hi,

Do the Radiance calcs work for any model at all? For instance does it run if you create a simple test room with a window and save this on your local machine C: Drive?

Try a test model like this (under conditions as stable and controlled as possible) and note the parts that fail. Take screenshots please and then zip up your project folder and send these to the support team using our website contact form

http://www.iesve.com/support/contact-support-team

Send us a Full Troubleshooting report as well please (Help menu >> Troubleshooting, click Full Report button)
