1. The HARD WAY: you might be able to edit the text file containing the constructions.

2. The EASY WAY: create yourself a template project directory, with all your properties and settings, which you can then copy and use whenever you have a new project.

Just to give a little more info on this process - the advice we usually give to any user who asks to do this is below:

It is possible to copy the constructions file from one project to another but this is risky and must be done carefully so as not to corrupt data in a model by replacing constructions that are referenced in the project. Be sure to save the project and create a CAB archive that you can go back to should things go wrong.

If you would like to copy the project constructions database from one project to another, copy the projectname.dfa file from the Apache folder of one project to the Apache folder of another and then rename the file so it has the name of the new project.

For example if you wanted to take the construction database from project “TestModel1” over to project “TestModel2” you would locate the .dfa file in “TestModel1” folder and copy it.

Go to the “TestModel2” project folder and paste the .dfa file and rename it “TestModel2.dfa”

Now when you open the Constructions Database in the new folder you will find the custom constructions from the previous project are loaded into the new project Constructions Database.

Again, I would always advise making a back up of the project folder before you start changing the files in it so that you have a working version to return to if anything goes wrong.
