Adding addition layers on top of a roof

Post by tkc »

Hi i would to model a building with several layers added on to the roof.

I am using the free tutorial model given as my base model and will like to enquire on how can i draw such that i can add additional layers above the roof itself?

Even though you have posted this question twice in different ways, I'm still not quite sure what you are asking.

Are you saying you want to add additional layers to the roof construction? Or are you wanting to add additional thermal zones to the geomoetry?

Hi complex potential,

i reposted it as i didnt realise that a post will need to go through admin check before it will be shown on the board. So sorry for that.

My focus is to investigate the temperature distibution of up to 10m from a roof surface. Hence i came up with the idea of drawing additional rooms on top of the roof surface model as provided in the tutorial examples.

I managed to add on rooms on top of the model but i do not really feel that what i have done is correct. What i basically did was to trace the outline of the drawing under the plan view and give it a height of 10m. The plane setting i set it as 0.

Can anyone advise if what i am doing is correct? Or should i have done it another way instead?
