Hi, I am WIlly, a student who take green building studio module. I have a simulation assignment, and have a problem with suncast analysis. Can someone help me to figure it out ?
First, I selected Solar - Suncast, then it shows Model, Image, and Analysis. Then, I opened "Analysis", chose "Solar Energy Analysis", then selected period to "full year", ticked the "full diffuse sky?". Finally clicked the "simulate" button.
It went smoothly with dialog box that showing loading kept running. then, it disappeared, with no result at all.
How can I see the result ?
Is it the same function with the button of "solar shading calculations" on the top tool bar, which can only be active if I opened"Image" section (not active when I opened "Analysis" section). I can see the result with this button.
Thank you.

I think what you described is just how this works to be honest.
You click simulate and calc runs
After the calc has been run Simulate is greyed out since you don't need to run it again.
The results can be accessed in the Model Viewer ll where the colouring occurs - there is an Apply button at the bottom to launch this with the results displayed.
Actually that Apply button isn't so informative is it
The Solar Shading Calculations button runs the solar shading calc to generate the shading file which can be used as part of your Apache Simulations, it's a different (but related) thing.
Click Help >> User Guides to access the SunCast user guide in the Solar Section, it covers all of this in far more detail.
