What is the best way to model the geometry of a room with sloped ceiling tiles that are parallel with a pitched roof?

Assuming you want to include the ceiling void as a seperate thermal zone do you mean something like this (roof and ceiling are invisible for viewing on the near side)?

The above was created using a combination of the slice, merge and subtract functions under ModelIT to end up with zones 1, 2 and 3 although I initially had more than this.

Alternatively you could just include the ceiling tiles within the total roof construction if the ceiling void does not need to be included seperate..

Yes just like that. I have not used slice and merge much, and the times I have, it was a bit cumbersome... I'll check it out - thanks! Would these functions be suitable for merging roof ridge going into a perpendicular adjacent roof slope? I know there isn't a crucial need to have the roof lines exact but I would like to get them better.

If you have the time and inclination to line up the ridges then yes, I believe the merge function could work. Also, have a play with the subtract function because you'll struggle to recreate what I did without it.
