I need to run a SAP calculation for a housing development in Scotland,
Do I need to download JPA designer and then a plugin to run a SAP calc?
Or am I missing something obvious

Yes, we offer a link to JPA Designer. We did have a Part L1 module but it is no longer available in the Virtual Environment software. JPA Designer are approved for SAP 9.90. You will need a licence for UK Dwellings which includes a key-code for JPA Designer.
The link works as follows:
1. Draw your geometry in the VE 2013
2. Switch to UK Dwellings module (valid licence key required) in VE Compliance.
3. Put rooms into room groups, dwellings 1, dwelling 2 etc.. anything you place in the Other category of the UK Dwellings room group will not be exported.
4. Assign your wall constructions in UK Dwellings module in VE Compliance
5. Export to JPA designer
6. After export, create your systems and other constructions in JPA.
