Analysis of Window Size

Post by mansoorahm »

Hi,
I am beginner for the IES-VE . I was just wondering that would it be possible in the software that you can get the graphical data against the impact of increasing and reducing windows size on the interior room temperature.

Doubt there is anything automated for you.
The place by percentage glazing tool could help you out if you are not worried about the exact position and shape of the glazing.
You will need to run a few sims though... unless it is a sample test (unrealistic) model you are dealing with then just have a few identical rooms with different window sizes on them.

Hi,

It's not quite applicable here but also have a look at the version of the Parametric Batch Processor currently available. It can schedule batch simulations to iterate through design options and then allow you to use the power of VistaPro to go through the results and compare options.

It doesn't have an ability to modify glazed area at present (that's still to come and will be very powerful when it does!) but you can assess different Window Constructions easily and there are other options that you may use in your assessments.
