Blinds
Blinds
When using internal blinds i note the effect is dramatic. I know from experience and empirical knowledge that typically a blind will reduce gain by circa 5-10%. What direct solar gain is cut, is transferred to air point as the blind emits. I cannot see where this happens. I can see the direct solar gain reduction but I am struggling to find what component has increased to include the long wave or air point. Can someone please point me in the correct direction?
Re: Blinds
From memory it shows up as an increased internal or external conduction gain.
Re: Blinds
I checked that but could see no appreciable difference. I swear the internal blinds behave like external. There is way too much of a reduction in solar gain. I really distrust the results when using blinds in IES. Ive never been satisfied with the blinds tool, the external blind tool fails to include for external blinds and you have to fudge it. If they could just add long and short wave in vista or be clear about how to see where the results are.
Re: Blinds
Look at the inside surface temperatures of your windows, they should be higher for the simulations where the blinds are closed.
