Explanation for flow with Wind Turbulence

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide bulk airflow analysis for passive/hybrid ventilation system design and simulation.

Explanation for flow with Wind Turbulence

Post by maiquesk »

Hello !

I have a question about the MacroFlo Calculation Methods Guide !

I try to understand how to calculate the flow through a single-slided ventilation due to wind turbulence.

I have done some test and I understand that when you include effects of wind turbulance, the flow is approximately = 0.05 * Aop * v (formulat 12, page 23 of "Calculation Methods (MacroFlo) ")

And when you don't include effects of wind turbulance, the flow correspond to te formula 11 (page 22).

The probleme is that I don't understand how you use the formula 13 (page 23). You say "This pressure variation is modelled by dividing the opening laterally into four sections and applying pressure adjustments to each".
That mean you add -0.04138 * Pref for the 1 section at delta P (in formula 11) ?

Thank

Best Regard,

Kévin
