I have a simple basic question.
When I model a building with the first floor height floor to ceiling 2.7m an internal floor with height 0.3m and a second floor with height 2.7m and roof with height 0.3.
When I model my room which is the correct way to do that?
I was told to model the rooms with height floor to floor of 2.7+0.3=3 m and specify the internal floor and roof construction normally.
In this way my building will have the correct height that is quite useful to have a correct shading in the site..
but will IES deduct the volume of the slab from the calculation in this way? I am doing a BB101 overheating analysis and I dont want to affect the results with a bigger volume.
Thanks

Re: correct height of rooms
Hi Martreglia
The way you are doing it is correct and IES will deduct the volume of the ceiling from the room as long as you activate internal volumes within ModelIT. You should then see these volumes represented graphically while working.
