Hi,

I have a complicated looking tower, and then I decided to create partition inside the tower, I always check the modeilIT report for any inconsistencies, I manage to finish it without any problem, suncast and apacheload are also okay, but when I try to do Apachesim, it has error of external holes.

why does it show external hole error if the modelIT report doesn't detect it?

Why doesn't this surprise me? I've just had a similar problem with a model. In my case, the cause of the issue was- although all surfaces were assigned as being adjacent, for some reason, the large majority of internal holes within the building were being considered external.

The cause was, although surfaces were adjacent (constructed from a single volume divided using the partition tool), many internal ceilings had become external surfaces for some reason. The resolve was to delete these rooms, rebuild, re-assign templates, HVAC and so on -a time consuming exercise.

ModelIT remains the thorn in the side of the IES software suite -its a complete disaster. How can it be expected to handle third party BIM imports if it can't even deal with its own geometry construction?
