Drawing Window Frames as 'Doors'

Hi,

I'm not sure if this is something widely done, but I prefer to draw windows by adding the glass with the 'Add window' tool and the frame with the 'Add door' tool. I then use a 0% frame factor on the glass part.

In many cases I find this quicker then calculating frame factors and it helps to keep the number of window constructions down.
If you set up many types with lots of different frame factors and the U-value / glazing spec changes you can have a real headache.

Anyway the problem is that when you try and change the shape of a room (e.g. with edit vertices) with windows set up in this way, bits of the frame disappear.

Is it possible this could be easily corrected?

Thanks

Ross

I am following the same process for daylighting and Flucs and Radiance simulation.
I am modelling the frame with door surfaces because otherwise the results are unrealistic if I use only glass with a frame percentage that is only considered in apache for thermal reasons. For the daylighting simulation, the frame does not exist.

IT would have been more productive to be able to draw custom windows with a combination of frame and glass and be able to place this on the wall.

This will improve the intergration factor between Apache and Radiance.
