heating and cooling setpoint formula

Post by mansour »

Hi, I run my building model using apachesim and my heating and cooling setpoints are 22, and 24.
the result shows very high room air temperature during the winter and constant during the summer.
so I tried to use an absolute formula for heating set point which is
if((ta<22|to<15.5),22,-100)

could you help me write a formula for heating and cooling set points
to make the room temperature during the summer and winter fluctuated between 22-24.

thank you for your help and advice

I'm assuming a UK climate here.

Do you have the cooling switching off during the winter or are both activation profiles for heating and cooling set to "on continuously"? If they are both on continuously then the room should not be able to go outside of the 22-24C range unless you have limited the cooling capacity within the room system tab.

If you are switching the cooling off in winter and it is getting hot then it suggests you have not modelled sufficient winter ventilation or that your internal gains are unusually high.

You should not need a complex formula for what you are trying to do.
