Hi

I need to make some shading on a flat roof (0 degree tilt), and I need to make both sidefins and louvers with shading increments. But when the roof is all flat, how do I know what is top/bottom and sides, respectively?

Thanks

simply change from plan view to any other suitable view such as front/back or even axo

Thank you for your input, but I think you misunderstand my problem, or I misunderstand your answer. Let me elaborate:

I have drawn a window on a zero degree tilted surface. Through the Construction Database Manager > window dialog, I want to add sidefins to shade from the sides, but also shading increments (louvers) to shade from solar height angles.

So, if the window had been on a vertical facade, it would be obvious where the sidefins were. But when the window is on a flat roof, how does IES know what I intend to be the sides and top/bottom repsectively? How do I know where IES puts the sidefins?

Thanks
