Hi All

I'm new to IES and have inherited a model to calculate the heat loads of the building to in turn size the boiler/radiator system.

I have tripled checked all room constructions and geometry as well as ensured all internal gains and air exchanges are correct however I am still coming out with a few rooms with ridiculously high head load (for example, an ICT room has an heating unit size of 11kW when the exact same room underneath has a much more sensible unit size of 1.1kW).

does anyone have any ideas what could be causing these discrepancies??

Cooling turned on ? (check template)

Windows open ? (turn MacroFlo off during simulation)

If nothing obvious then the loads can be broken down in VistaPro. Pull these out for the peak day for both rooms and see if there are any obvious difference, e.g. you might find internal conduction losses are very different, which would indicate a problem with adjacent room conditions.

It's always a bit of a b***ger when you inherent a model - look carefully for any deviations from templates then have been applied at room level.
