Individual exhaust in laboratories.

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide effective modelling of conventional/advanced HVAC systems, operation and control.

Individual exhaust in laboratories.

Post by energizer »

Hello,

I am a beginner at IES-VE and have some basic queries. I would appreciate if someone can assist me in understanding few of the concerns.

1) I am developing a building which has considerable number of laboratory rooms with individual exhaust fumehoods governing the exhaust air flow rates of those rooms and are ON continuously. While creating the zone template for the labs at Building Template Manager > System level it doesn't have an option for Ventilation & extract, but when i go to a specific lab room and into the Apache > Query > Room Data > System level it has an option of selecting whether there is a local mechanical exhaust in the room. So do I need to go into individual rooms and specify the individual fumehood exhausts at the Apache > query > system level? It will be quite tedious work as there are over 150 rooms with individual exhaust fans.

2) I want to define an air change rate of say 7 ach for the labs, so should i be defining it at the Building Template Manager > Air Exchanges > Auxiliary Ventilation level? I have imported a typical ApacheHVAC sytem and auto sized it except defining the supply, return and exhaust fans air flow rates so the rooms have flow rates auto sized at the controller level. I was wondering how the ApacheSim will approach to it, will it be considering the controller level air flow rates (auto sized) or the exhaust air flow rate that i want it consider which I can only define at the Apache > Query > Room Data > System.

Looking forward to your reply. Thanks in advance!
