Error when running compliance

Post by L Headley »

Hi,

When running compliance for any of my models I get a pop up saying "VE MFC Application has stopped working" this is exactly as the calculation finishes for the notional building.

You can show the problem details and the it says the fault module is "RegsView.dll" as far as I'm aware this is a program file and is not related to the project files.

What should I do to rectify this? Reinstall the software? I'm running the latest update 2014.2.0.0

Thanks

I'm not sure exactly what could be causing this but I often see errors cropping up due to model path names having unusual characters in them like commas. If your model is being stored on a network drive it's likely to have a large amount of text in the target path so do a save as to your local drive and give it a simple name.

It's worth a punt.

Ok, so after running a few of my other models, they all seem to work fine, some of which are in the same folder location. It seems to be this one project which is causing the issue. I've saved this model in numerous places with different names but it still doesn't work.

I've had IES reinstalled and that didn't fix the issue. This "RegsView.dll" file is still the module that is failing, but now I think something in the model is causing this but I have not got any idea what it might be.

I had sent a screenshot of the pop up to support. I may now send a CAB of the model as well now I know its causing the issue.

Thanks

Ok,

News from support is that this is part of a known error with 2014 feature pack 2.

If anyone sees this with the same error please see the following forum thread:

I ran into this today after installing service pack 2 yesterday. I have now reverted back to service pack 1.

Hi All,

I've posted an update on the other thread, we're submitting the fix for approval this week so hopefully won't be too long before it is available.
