HI All,
I am building a model that has an external skin 1.5 meters away from the external glazing.
The design of the external skin has a load of irregularly shapes holes placed throughout the surface to allow some light through. Roughly 40% of the surface will be holes in total.
I have tried modelling it as local shading and an adjacent building but It wont allow the placement of holes.
Does anybody know if there is a way to put holes into a shading device or another way I could best model the same feature to achieve the same goal of shading the building?
Thanks

Re: Holes in Shading
Hi,
The reason holes are not allowed in shading surfaces is I believe they are not read.
Instead build up the shading in panels "around" these holes and that should work. If you have a DXF attach this in any view and trace it in parts, you can add extra construction lines should you wish to map out where you want to draw these parts as well.
