ApaceSim Error

Hi,

I am trying to run simulations for a baseline system and a proposed system. The only change to the proposed system is that the chiller type is different. I can run the baseline simulation fine. However when I try to run the simulation with the proposed system IES gives me the following message.

"VE MFC application has stopped working"

Not sure what the issue is. Anybody encounter this issue?

I believe MFC is a windows service, so basically there is a windows error that happens when you try to run the simulation.

I would recommend you check with microsoft forums/google for how to fix mfc errors. Some checks that might help you better identify the problem are:

1. Restart your PC
2. Try saving your proposed system as a different name, and run the sim.
3. Is the error happening only for this specific project? If so try saving the project as a different name in a different location.

Hope this helps!

Hi farahghanem,

Thanks. I tried restarting the PC and saved the proposed case HVAC system as a different file. However I still have the same issue.

When I run the simulation using the baseline HVAC system it works well. However when I try to run the simulation using the proposed case system it gives me the MFC error.

The only difference between the baseline and proposed case HVAC systems is that the proposed case HVAC system has watercooled chillers. I am also using a fluid cooler for the chillers in the proposed case model. Chillers in the baseline model are air-cooled chillers.

try saving a backup of the project, delete all related data for proposed HVAC system and build it again, see if that helps. (or check if other projects are facing same error)

I do not feel this error is IES specific, as MFC is a microsoft end process.

Ask for support from microsoft and also send a support ticket to ies tech team (provide them with project backup file).

Hi guys,

MFC in this case is not a microsoft end process. The message you're getting basically means the VE crashed.

As mentioned, it would be best to raise a support issue with us and send in the model.

You can do this via http://www.iesve.com/support/contact.

Regards,
John

I raised a support issue and have sent the file.
