Top Hung Window on Glazed Surface

Greetings,

I have an inquiry about a particular project in which I'm working. This particular project has 15 stories, and the facade consists pretty much of 100% glazing. However, this project is naturally ventilated by the use of top-hung windows that are part of the facades. In ModelIT it is impossible to place a window on top of a glazed surface, thus I cannot place the actual operable windows on the model. How can I get around this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

You have two options really.

One would be to go back tot he ModelIT geometry and split the glazing into panels representing the opening and non-opening parts. Then you can assign MacroFlo properties to each.

Alternatively you can assign a MacroFlo opening type to the whole glazed area and reduce the openable area to a fraction of the whole area that represents the openable area.
