Window wells

Hi,

I'm trying to model window wells but I'm not sure if this is the right way of doing it. I've currently drawn a room adjiacent to the room that has the "underground window" or otherwise known as a window adjiacent to a window well (hole in the ground), and then I drawn a door at the top of this hole.

But the way I modeled it I'm not sure if exterior air will be considered in this underground room. For the record my licence does not include macroflow and I'm doing static ASHRAE loads only.

Thanks!

Hi,

Has there been a solution for window wells yet? I have tried modeling windows as is - part of window below grade without creating anything separate for window wells.

This is how I modeled situations with window wells -
I created a wall construction that is partly below grade and remaining is above grade; I constructed windows as I would on a normal above grade exterior wall, the difference here being that part of window is below grade and ran loads.

Loads are comparable to windows on an above grade wall - solar loads are similar. Does this mean IES VE doesn't account for windows being below grade exterior wall and calculates solar loads through windows the same way it would for an above grade exterior wall?

Thanks!
