Wall issue

Post by hlehmann »

Hello all,

I'm new here and fairly new to IES. I'm currently tracing a DXF file like I normally do, however, once I changed to a different floor the room outlines started showing a thickness. Also the colour of the walls in the navigation has changed to blue instead of the usual yellow (see attachment). I would like to know how the walls changed, and whether it can be reversed, also does it have an effect on the model in terms of EPC?

Kind regards!

Hi,

This means that inner volumes have been switched on in your model. You should have some details of this in your ModelIT Training Notes.

You can switch them off by selecting all rooms and clicking on the inner volume representation toolbar button in ModelIT. They would have an impact on areas and volumes used in simulations and also for reporting so you should consider carefully if you ant to model with inner vols on or off for your Compliance work.
