IES-VE User Forum

Hi folks, any one have a best recommendation for most efficient workflow for an IES model once its been imported from sketchup? I'm not doing detailed HVAC at this point, just trying to get a sense of how well natural ventilation might work and how hot the spaces will get.

I'd recommend using the Navigators (the tab next to the default Application tab near the top left of the screen), specifically the "Building Energy" one (select from the drop down list from within the Navigators panel) which goes through most of the steps you will need to carry out a thermal assessment. You can probably skip anything energy specific but it should prove a good starting point.

You will probably find yourself working inside the Apache and MacroFlo modules for most of the time.
