VE update for revised Section 6 (Energy) - Non-domestic 2015

Post by PCully »

Hi,

We have some information regarding the development plan for Section 6 Scotland 2015 regulations rollout and I wanted to share here as below.

The Scottish Government, Building Standards Division (BSD) has published new guidance regarding Building Standards compliance from 1 October 2015, including new Technical Handbooks with major revisions to Section 6 (Energy) Non-domestic.

IES is currently working on developing an update to VE 2015 for both SBEM and DSM in accordance with these revisions. This will be available to all users when the final release of SBEM, EPCgen and BRUKLgen is confirmed and the software is officially approved. It is anticipated that this will be early December so we'll be in touch as soon as it is ready for download.

In the meantime, an intermediate version of SBEM has been made available to give representative results for Section 6 2015 Compliance simulations. We will release a public beta of the software to give access to these regulations, and will aim to make the first beta available week commencing Monday 5th October. To register your interest in access to this version please email beta@iesve.com and provide your full name, company name and VE PIN (found in Help >> Troubleshooting).

More on the key changes to Section 6 (Energy) Non-domestic
This link below contains the new edition of Section 6 (energy) of the Technical Handbooks, together with relevant supporting information.

an update based on our current development status

The Scottish Governments planned revisions to Section 6 (Energy) Non-domestic were due to go live on the 1st October. We received notification on the 30th September that this deadline would not be met as further work was required prior to public release. We expect a public release of the finalised update around the 20th November – to be confirmed.

IES has completed work on all known items, but are awaiting notification of these final, as yet unreleased changes which has impacted our release schedule. The update will be available to all users when the final release of SBEM, EPCgen and BRUKLgen is confirmed and the software is officially approved. It is anticipated that this will now be late December so we'll be in touch as soon as it is ready for download.

In the meantime, an intermediate version of SBEM has been made available to give representative results for Section 6 2015 Compliance simulations. We will release a public beta of the software to give access to these regulations, and will aim to make the first beta available during week commencing Monday 19th October.

Please note, the beta version will be subject to change.
