Losing Windows with Z up

Previously I have replicated windows on upper storeys by copying the rooms on the current floor, with their windows, then increasing the Z dimension using the 'Edit Element Heights' button. Once done I moved the copied and elevated room group on top of the floor I've just created. Used to work a treat for certain projects with complicated room and window layouts were these were replicated, even in part, on upper floors.
But what happens now is that when the copied rooms are elevated the windows are lost (although occasionally one window mysteriously survives). What's going on?
I could of course use the Create Storey function, but although this has its advantages, it can only work on one room at a time which limits it's ability to save time.
Has something been changed with the 'Z' button or am I doing something daft?
