Hi all,

I'm having trouble importing a template file from VE 2015 to VE 2016. When I import the template, the thermal templates are there, however they don't have the associated Apache profiles. Everything seems to default to "on continuously" under the variation profile. It's a bit tedious to reassign all profiles as this project has 23 different space types with lighting, process, and occupancy inputs including displacement ventilation occupied / stratified spaces.

Is there a way to import the template so that the Apache profiles are retained?

The process that I go through is the following:

1) In my VE 2015 file: Tools -> Master Templates -> Master Template Export
2) In my VE 2016 file: Tools -> Master Templates -> Master Template Wizard -> Import Data -> Select all template imports & select all data Imports

I then get an error, which I'm assuming is the cause, saying that some changes could not be made which seems to be a bunch of Apache profiles:

"2016-Jul-21 18:49:51
Add action failed because:
Internal Gain "1356" has invalid dependencies,
Apache Profile "UNKNOWN" does not exist"

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Huh, I repeated the same steps as above and the Apache profiles were imported along with the templates this time, but I still got the same error.
Does anyone what causes that error and how it may affect the model?

Hi Ben,

Yes this error would suggest that the profile referenced in the internal gain that was imported has not been imported to the project or if it was the internal gain lost its reference to it (e.g. maybe its ID was changed).

IF you still have them (I know it's a big if) could you upload the starting model you are importing from and the destination model you are importing to so we could take a look. i suspect it will be specific to the specific models you are working with in this instance
