Hi all!
Before posting this, I had a look at other topics similar (including the constuctions tutorial pdf) but can't find any. So, here goes in the hope someone can help...!
My model of a tower block is going along A OK, and I'm now at the stage of assigning thermal constructions. I believed this part of it was going ok (i started on the thermal constructions last week) but I've had to delete and redraw rooms so I'm having to reassign thermal constructions.
My issue is that the constructions I'm assigning don't appear to be saving. For example, I'm trying to assign a brick/block wall to an external surface - the brick/block wall appears in the column for replacing, i select it, hit replace then close the 'assign constructions' box and when going back into the room, it is still showing as 'standard wall 3'.
Also, when I highlight the whole model and all lines go red (say the 1st floor, as if to make a blanket change for all external walls), when I open 'assign constructions' only the most recently drawn rooms appear in red.
Can anyone help? Is there a global lock i've somehow hit?
Thanks folks!

Re: Help with assigning and replacing thermal constructions
Hi Ross
I think you may have encountered the rather counter intuitive nature of the assign constructions dialogue box.
When a you have successfully replaced a construction with a different type, the original construction remains in the same dialogue pane, but when highlighted you should note that there are no red lines shown, however when you highlight the newly applied construction this should show an appropriate red line.
This would explain why, when selecting a whole floor, some walls are red and others not. Most likely these are newly drawn rooms which will have the original default construction.
A useful trick to use if all occurrences of a particular construction are to change is to edit the applied default construction (although you may want to copy it first). Then there is no need to go through the replacement process.

Re: Help with assigning and replacing thermal constructions
Hi there!
Thanks so much for replying, much appreciated (sorry for the delay, i didn't get a notification to say someone had replied).
In short - that's it in a nut shell! Took me numerous passes to figure out that was the case - its certainly not the easiest screen to follow but focusing on 'what turns red when it is selected' helps.
Fortunately, all the changes i've made to the thermal constructions seem to have saved (phew!!) so onwards and upwards...!
