BUG: APS files prevent ApacheHVAC system loads calc

In 2016, if the user has previously run an ApacheSim and tries to run an ApacheHVAC system loads calc using the same file name the VE will produce the error Error - duplicate results name, which was not present in 2015. The workarounds are to either manually delete the APS files, which is annoying, or to rename the files for every run, which is also annoying and causes excessive model size and difficulty tracking results.

Hi,

Yes this was picked up by one of our support consultants and has been logged with the development team. We'll need to review it and decide if we want to impose this rule to keep the system loads and simulation results files relevant to each other based on their name or we can drop this restriction.

Hopefully not too much work for you to work with it now you know what the rule it is using is, either remove the sim results file (you'd rerun that at some point yes?) or choose a new results file naming for your next set of sizing and simulation runs

Phil

Phil,

Thanks for the confirmation. It's takes a few extra clicks each run to delete the file, which by itself doesn't take that much time, but when you add that to the 11 clicks and some typing to view unmet hours (outside of the PRM navigator) it all adds up.
