Hevacomp style room reports

Post by nevduggan »

Hello,

Sorry to mention Hevacomp, but more and more I'm being asked by engineers for Hevacomp style reports thatlist room details for their own interrogation.

They're looking for the following:

Where I have done heat loss calcs:
Room Image
Room Name
Area
Volume
surface detail(s)
surface U value(s)
Glazed area
Glazed U value(s)
Infiltration rate
Fabric loss (internal and external)
Infiltration loss
Vent loss
Margin required to meet 45min reheat time
(and, ideally, loss per surface)

Where I have done overheating calcs, they are also after:
Aux Vent rate
Window Opening Area (effective orifice area)
Window G value
Gains (of all types)

I know some of this is available for print in excel via room data, but surface details and an image are not (to my knowledge)

More often than not, they expect to be able to see a standard IES branded report format (ie not through excel where I could have 'adjusted data') with a room per page for their review.

When I say it's not available, they look suspicious, because in their view, if IES is 'better' than hevacomp, surely it should have 'hevacomp' report functionality as well to help them design.

Further, when I provide an excel sheet, there is an aire of suspicion which undermines credibility.

Is this something that is available in IES that I have missed all these years and if not, is it a report function that could be added?

Thanks as always,

Nev
