Add Fuels to BRPM Report?

Post by clorenz531 »

Is there a way to make additional fuels report for the BPRM report? I have a LEED for healthcare project which has atypical energy end use breakdowns that need to be reported (MRI energy, PET energy, k*****n Exhaust fan energy, etc.) I've applied these sorts of things to various "Misc. X" type fuel sources so that I can extract that data from Vista. However, These end uses don't show up on the BRPM report (related - is there a way to rename those?!)

Is there a way to control which energy end uses get listed on the BRPM report?

Thanks!

Edit: It's worth noting: I'm working in VE 2015

I've run into the same kind of issue, unfortunately there does'nt appear to be a way to do what you want.

A workaround I've used is (one by one), assign the energy use I'm interested in capturing to the "Parking Garage Fan" fuel usage and document the results. Not ideal, and I don't understand why IES has not resolved this, but Energy modeling is full of workarounds.

Good Luck!

Typically I lump all of this usage in receptacle. I then provide a narrative and some screenshots or similar to USGBC documenting your inputs.

In other words, there's no requirement you break them out in your reporting. You just have to show they've been included.

If you want greater details The BPRM report includes Receptacle, Refrigeration, Data Center, and Elevators/Escalators (taken from v2016). You could assign your equipment to these end uses in any grouping, and explain their "true" accounting in a short narrative.

I agree, I don't think there is any LEED requirement to break things like that out, so I'd lump them all under some process loads (you can do generic process loads or something if you want to separate them from plug loads.

In general I never use the PRM reports any more because of the way GBCI has redone what used to be table 1.4 and other credit inputs. Because of that, It's pretty easy to just set up the variables you care about in VistaPro, and dump them into a spreadsheet that formats however you want. In this way, you can use the misc 'x', etc fuels.

I'll also add that as of the current 2017 release, the fuel meters are much more flexible, so you should be able to submeter however you want (though I have noticed that 'plug loads' don't seem to show up in the PRM report.
