louvres

I am trying to model louvers within the IESVE software.
I've read that it is best to model the louvers as doors, and then assign the correct coefficient discharge and openable area within the macroflow module.
When I run simulations it doesn't take into account the solar gains.
I did the simulations with windows and obtained results for solar gains.. but would this be as a result of the glazing?
I've also modelled louvers as external holes with the louver parameters applied in the Macroflow section
(and am thinking of modelling the external hole as the actual openable area, without applying parameters)
when doing this, modeling as an external hole, an error comes up -when moving to the Apache module BUT the simulation still runs.. is this because the external holes have been changed to doors or windows?
Could someone please advise me?
Many thanks in advance!
