Hello All,
Im carrying out a daylight and sunlight study in line with BRE's document Site layout Planning.
Part of the criteria is for amenity areas to receive 2 hours of sunlight on 50% of the garden during the equinox.
In the past i have used sunlight indicators supplied by BRE to be laid over a scaled drawing and the hours are worked out that way.
This is proving time consuming and i have come across a study online whereby the VE was used to determine the hours. See attached image.
I know this must be carried out in suncast under the "solar exposure analysis" section. I select 21st march as the date and my display as hours.
However, we can only display values for everything except the ground.
Am i supposed to create an additional 100mm room in the garden and then show values on the roof of the room?
If so, how to show only this "roof" and not every other roof as seen in the attached image

Re: Garden Sunlight Hours During Equinox
Hi wylie,
Right now the only way to analyse the ground on it's own would be to change the object type or add a room like you mentioned.
Changing the ground to a room, and your buildings to shades would achieve what you're looking for.
Being able to analyse ground exposure is something we're hoping to improve in the future.
