Is it fine if I manually delete Radiance and SunCast files ?

Hi there,

I appreciate any advice on how to deal with multiple simulations. I need to have different radiance and sun cast analysis effects to copare different model configurations. The problem is when I run first simulation, it will take time to run Radiance. But when I make any change, i.e add shading devices, and then run simulation, it will only run the thermal sim and I expect Radiance and SunCast will be the same previous ones. I did a test to delete those files manually and it succeeded to run Radiance again but not sure if this is a valid method. Please advise and thanks in advance.

Regards,

Yahya

hi,

When running simulations with the SunCast or Radiance link ticked on the simulation settings dilaog then Parallel Simulation Manager is able to check if the relevant input files exists for apache (i.e. shd shading file or ill illuminance file) and if not then it will schedule and calculate this, if it does exist then apache will validate the file and either run the sim or give an error and often prompt to recalculate.

If you delete either of these files form your project folder and have the link ticked on sim settings then it will always prompt the file t be recalculated before simulation so it is reasonably safe although of course you will spend more time recalculating before you can run the simulations
