Comparing reference mode and actual model results in vista pro

I have a reference model and a proposed model which differ in terms of materials, lighting efficiency and hvac efficiency. So far I have just create 2 separate IES project files one for the reference and one for the proposed, and ran the simulations in apache separately for each. Is there a way of running both models in one project file so the output results can be compared easily in Vistapro to demonstrate the savings of the proposed over the reference?

Hi,
Few ways to achieve this.
1. Do you know you can load the results files into the same VistaPro session and compare directly? VistaPro menu >> open Results file then browse. By default it loads the results files in the current project Vista folder but you can load them in from anywhere
2. Set up the Actual model, run the sim. GO back and make modifications to change to the reference model, sim again. Then you have both sets of results for review.
The Design Options tool is excellent for this (acts like a VE model find and replace tool, it's fantastic)
3. Model both buildings side by side (far enough away that they won't shade one another) and just run 1 sim then compare their performance together in single results file.
For options 2 and 3 Master Templates will allow you to import defined Thermal Templates, Constructions, systems etc into a single VE project if you wish
