Hello everybody, this is my first post so please be patient with me if I am posting in the wrong section.
I am trying to model a residence and I have already managed to perform the following tasks:
model and sketch each residence
set proper location
chose proper weather data
set all needed construction types
set BTM (horizontal partitions, construction types, MacroFlo, thermal, light pro and radiance)
set working profiles (daily, weekly and annual)
I have used the Apache calculation and simulation for the internal gains and every gain is correctly allocated to each room.
I used the VistaPro packet so to simulate all results and then view. Results were produced for the weather condition (i.e. dry/wet bulb temp, external due point, wind speed, etc.) or for a specific room (i.e. dry resultant temperature, mean radiant temperature, moisture content etc.).
But when I try to deduce results for building loads or building energy (i.e. equipment electricity, lights electricity, total lights energy, total system energy etc.) I don’t get any.
My goal is to deduce the energy demands (i.e. for heating/cooling) of the buildings and their total energy needs in kWh/m^2 .
I suppose that those results should be available in the building energy category but in this category no results are produced at all.
Can someone advise me with what I am doing wrong???

Hi George,
First question is what is your HVAC methodology set to, ApHVAC or ApSys? (find under settings tab)
ApHVAC is a little more robust and hands on, allowing a lot of customization, compared to the ApSys. The methodology must be set before creating the model unfortunately so it depends on what your needs are and the level of detail.

You can generate the room loads in the apache module without having a system assigned by choosing ASHRAE Loads which I believe is your case. However in order to get system results you have to create and assign the HVAC systems based on your own zoning scheme and then run a dynamic simulation with your system enabled (be sure to select desired outputs options in the dynamic simulation pop up). This dialog also allows you to enable autosizing the system if desired. Once the simulation is complete, this will then allow you to view results in VistaPro and diagnose any unmet hours accordingly, or system components, or energy usage. I recommend checking out the user guides explaining the ApSys & ApHVAC modules since the HVAC can be a bit robust with all the customization features.
