Acoustic Requirements - Hottest 200 Hours

Post by RossThompson87 »

Hi,

I have been working on a few projects recently with acoustic requirements according to Building Bulletin 93 (2015).

In simple terms, free areas are constrained for acoustic reasons except for the hottest 200 hours in the DSY weather file.

Any ideas of an easy way to model this in IES? Could scripting be used in this case?

I could work out these hours for a specific weather file and programme them in to my profiles, but this would be very time consuming!

Another option would be to set opening threshold (internal) temperatures for increased free area, and then retrospectively check that I don't overshoot the 200 hours.

It can also result in a huge number of macroflo types as different facades can have different free area limits etc.
