Double-skin glazed façade

Post by aldobit »

Does anyone know if it is possible to represent a double-skinned glazed facade using Part L2 <VE> Compliance?

I’d hoped to be able to model a cavity zone, one which could be ignored in the Notional Building but included in the Actual Building. In the Notional scenario the internally glazed facade would become an external adjacency with direct solar gain.

I’ve played around with unheated space categories (“warm void”, “other buffer”, “glazing cavity”) but I can’t obtain the scenario I outlined above. For example by modelling as a “glazing cavity”, it is omitted from the notional model as desired but the cavity’s internal glazing is also removed leaving behind an opaque external wall. Ideally it would leave behind an external window.
