Surface Conduction Gains

I have a question related to the Vista Pro results. When i simulate and see the results of the conduction gain of a room IESVE gives the results of the conduction gain of the whole room. When i want to look the conduction gain of a particular surface (eg. Outer surface and inner surface of wall) where can i find out? Because when i select a surface and look for results it just shows the External surface incident solar power and internal surface incident solar power and not the conduction gains. And here does the solar power means to the solar gain ? I have also checked the Vista Pro Thermal Analysis Module and i couldn't find out. So kindly please help me in this case.

First, try scrolling down in the list of room variables. If you don't see those surface conduction gains broken out, it means that you don't have the outputs turned on. Rerun your simulation, but in the dialog box, select 'output options' and then turn on what you need - or just turn on everything just in case and select all the rooms at the bottom (this will make the results file bigger though). That way you can at least break down conduction to floor, wall, window, roof, door, etc, though you won't be able to see conduction through a specific surface - that's just not how the simulation works. You will however be able to see all the interior surface temperatures.

Did I get it right that there is no way to output the conductiuon through a specific surface? Now that is very lame! I mean, this is important when it comes to evaluate and optimize building envelopes!

Is there any work around?

And does anyone know what the "internal conduction gains" really describe? They obviously do not only comprise conduction (heat flow from a surface with higher temperature to a surface with lower temperature) but seem also to include thermal mass effects (heat flow from the room to the construction and back).

Is there any way to separate these outputs, so that I can tell how much heat flows between rooms and how much heat is taken up and released by thermal mass?
