Hi everyone,
If I want to model window ac unit of 6000 kBtu? how to do that in Ies.
I used unitary system with internal airflow circle with 400 l/s flow for the unit and proportional controller.
Best Regards.
How to size unitary unit?
Re: How to size unitary unit?
Hi Hushan,
What exactly do you want to get out of the model?
Typically you'd use the model to size the ac unit not model a specific size unit.
But you can limit the cooling capacity in the model and run a dynamic simulation to get for example resulting air temperature i believe.
The option is in Apache when you click room query button (cube with ?) on the system tab. Untick template and input your cooling unit capacity.
Though you can also edit it per each room thermal template, again in the system tab - it would just apply to multiple rooms.
You may need to convert btus to kW (i'm using SI units) 6000 BTU (is kBtu correct??) would be 1.76kW which is pretty small.

Re: How to size unitary unit?
Thank you Gazzat5,
I want to know how it would be if I applied this capacity. So, I work reversely to check unmet hours.
Do you know how to change EER for the unitary system?
the default ones gives only 11.2.
