Apache Loads and ASHRAE 90.1 autosizing runs

Post by David_S »

Hi All,

We have a LEED project coming, including calculation in accordance with the ASHRAE 90.1 procedure.

In order to run heating / cooling autosize runs for the baseline, is the Apache Loads module required, or can this be derived from the dynamic simulation?

(We don't hold license for the Apache Loads).

Thank you

Hi David,

while you can extract the loads from simulation results files it is run via dsm methodology rather than ASHRAE standard which 90.1 may require. Autosizing in VE is only available via ASHRAE Loads calculation which requires a specific licence key

if you have the VE 90.1 Navigator licence I believe this is often sold as a package with required modules such as ApacheHVAC, ASHRAE loads etc so you can discuss with your account manager as may be easy to get added on

Hi Phil,

thanks for the response. We have purchased licence for the ASHRAE Loads module (don't have the 90.1 navigator).
