Domestic Hot Water via ASHP and Electric Heater

Post by Arpit Patel »

Primary source is the Heat pump for hot water. Is there any possibility to demonstrate the below configuration of the heating system with VE Compliance.
"The ASHP will be only heating the water to 50-52deg C , however the 60deg C will be achieved by electrical emersion heaters"

What I do here is have a seperate DHW Apache system dedicated to DHW only. None of my other systems define the DHW. Then heating source is an ASHP of the required sCoP and add a bivalent electric heater. Portioned appropriately. In your instance elec 20% (ish). That will then account for the uplift via immersion. This will generate a weighted sCoP for both ASHP and Elec immersion.

I always have seperate systems for purely the DHW. That way you change only 1 system rather than all.
