I would like to understand what the difference is between the Steady State heating Plant Load and the Heating Plant Sensible Load.

The vista user guide says the Heating Plant Sensible Load is the sensible heating supplied to the room and is calculated from the Steady State Heating Plant Load by application of an intermittency factor.

Does anybody have an understanding of what this intermittency factor is? (i.e what its value is and how it is determined)

Which figure is the appropriate one to use for plant sizing?

The adjustment for intermittency is descibed in CIBSE Guide A which maps out the methodology that the CIBSE Loads calculations in VE follow. It's a way for the steady state calculations to incorporate dynamic internal gains variations through an adjustment
