Hi,
I am working with a project of a primary school whose classrooms are geodesic domes.
I try unsuccesfully to import the geometry of the domes from a IFC files, so I want to model it directly in IESVE.
The exact geometry was very dificult, if not impossible, so I want to know your reccomendation to model it to have the best approximation in a thermal standpoint.
Thank you very much for your help

Re: Geometry - Geodesic Domes
Hi,
ModelIT has a tool to draw a hemisphere that would be a strong start to the shape you want. Otherwise I always found the VE plug-in for Sketchup does a good job with geometry like that and it will come through with the segmented surfaces as drawn in SketchUp so gives you some better control over the resultant surfaces that is admittedly more difficult to achieve in ModelIT although i'd be interested if anyone here has more experience to share or techniques? i'm not so experienced with complex geometry and have relied on 10 by 10 boxes for majority of my life
