I'd personally make a shelf "component" and use this in Radiance... you'll probably have more joy setting surface properties than using the obstructions in ModelIT which I think havea fixed reflectance (same as ground plane as far as I'm aware). I'd shove a ceiling tile false ceiling in as well with components.
