Lightwell in office

I'm trying to create a lightwell in an office, the space is made up of 9 smaller spaces each 9 x 9 over three floors all connected together, Ive disconnected the spaces using the edit space tool to use as the lightwell and created the rooflight by making the ceiling a big window. I'm stuck when I try to create the 'internal walls' of the lightwell. Using the same principle again by making the walls into windows but I keep getting an error in IES saying (opening must be contained in a surface or adjacency and must not overlap existing openings). By making the internal walls into windows is the only way i can think of assigning them a glazing material property in radiance. Any suggestions would be greatful ?
