Hello all,

I have tried to simulate a very simple model in Radiance for a daylight factor distribution. I am working with VE 5.9.2. I have left the working plane at default along with the image quality. I've chosen the CIE overcast sky and left the default date. I tried to generate an image with 'illuminance -working plane', and after waiting 20 min to process, I got a message saying that the file is corrupted, "check Radiance.log file of your project"--which I never found. What does this mean?

Hi,

A few general things to check that may cause this error:

- make sure you aren't viewing another Radiance image when trying to generate the new image
- make sure the project is stored on the local machine and not on a network
- make sure the project path is as simple as possible e.g. save on local C: Drive and try to avoid strange characters in the project name/path
- make sure the eye/focus positions are not in a wall or floor/ceiling

The Radiance.log file should be in the radiance folder of your project, it may give more information on the problem

Thank you for your reply. I think the issue was about the eye/focus pointing at the floor... but am not quite sure at 100% as I have another problem... Please see my most recent post "VE 5.9.2 - connect/ seperate space".
