Apache Systems Wizard

Post by andrewmackay »

Is there a published narrative of the assumptions made when creating the UK NCM system types in the systems wizard? e.g.) single-duct VAV?

Or even just a slightly more detailed description of these systems.

My problem is I'm modelling a fairly standard room-level FCU system with a constant volume fresh air rate supplied by a central AHU. I started to model a mechanical system for the 'auxiliary ventilation', representing the AHU. The cooling is then represented by the FCU system with the FCU SFP specified.

I've been told that this is wrong and the FCU system type includes a central AHU for ventilation and I should use just one system with the AHU SFP specified.

I understand that Apache HVAC would be a way to get round this difficulty, however I'd like to understand the NCM system types better for this and for future reference.

Hi

It's a copy of the SBEM systems stuff - I think it's detailed in the SBEM documentation.
Why IES haven't included is beyond me - as usual the user-guides aren't enough to give us what we need.
